Icon® - Caries infiltration
No syringes, no drilling, no painEvery now and then, there are revolutions in modern dentistry. Rarely however, was a method of treatment as innovative and beneficial as the new Icon® -system for caries infiltration. This novel method of treating tooth decay does not require anaesthesia or the typical drilling. Thus, there is no pain and no loss of healthy tooth substance.
Icon® is a highly effective method consisting of three treatment steps. First, the tooth is pre-treated with a special gel, to open the pores at the carious site. The tooth is then disinfected and dried with a special alcohol. The third and last step consists of applying the novel, scientifically proven Icon® resin, which penetrates into the decayed body and seals it from the inside.
This method is particularly suitable for incipient caries or the classical interdental caries, which often develops at points that are hard to reach during brushing.
Especially for phobic patients this method is a true blessing, because it guarantees an absolutely painless treatment.
